Easy Homemade Strawberry Cobbler Recipe for Summer Desserts

Strawberry Cobbler Recipe

Fresh strawberries in a bowl

Introduction

My grocery shop sold 2-pound packages of fresh strawberries for an absurdly low price last week. The strawberries were big and a gorgeous deep red color. They needed to be turned into a dessert that would show off both their color and flavor.

Ingredients

Ingredients for strawberry cobbler

  • ○ 2 pounds fresh strawberries
  • ○ 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • ○ 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • ○ 1/4 cup white sugar (for sauce)
  • ○ 1 tablespoon butter (for berries)
  • ○ 1 cup flour
  • ○ 1/4 cup white sugar (for topping)
  • ○ 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ○ 1/2 cup cold butter, cut into pieces
  • ○ 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • ○ 1/2 cup cream

Instructions

  1. Wash, shell, and cut the strawberries to begin the procedure.
I cut my berries into pieces that were approximately a quarter of an inch thick.
I wanted the berries to be cut thick enough so that they would still look like berries once they were baked.
  2. Combine lemon juice, corn starch, and white sugar (for sauce) in a saucepan and boil them until they thicken.
  3. Put the strawberries in the pan and fold them in gently to coat them.

Strawberries coated with sauce

  1. Grease a 9-inch baking dish.
  2. Put the berries in the prepared 9-inch baking dish.
  3. Add butter to the top of the berries.
  4. For the topping, mix flour, white sugar (for topping), baking powder, and salt together.
  5. Cut the cold butter into the dry ingredients until you get big crumbs.
  6. Stir in the cream.
  7. Put the crumbs on top of the berries and bake.
  8. Bake at 375°F for 25 minutes.
